My name is Akshara Likhar, and I am currently pursuing my LL.M. in Criminology and Security Law from Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, after completing my B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Indore Institute of Law. With a strong academic foundation and an unwavering passion for the field of litigation, I have continually sought to deepen my understanding of the Indian legal system through both scholarly study and immersive, hands-on experience.
My professional journey has been marked by a deliberate focus on litigation practice. Over the course of my education, I have undertaken multiple internships under distinguished legal practitioners and government advocates, including tenures of more than one year at the High Court Division Bench in Indore, the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone), and the State Information Commission in Bhopal. These experiences have provided me with practical exposure to the dynamics of courtroom procedures, legal drafting, advocacy, and the strategic nuances of casework.
Litigation, to me, is more than a profession-it is a commitment to justice and the relentless pursuit of truth. I believe in the power of law to effect meaningful change, and I approach every legal challenge with intellectual curiosity, discipline, and integrity. My academic interests are reflected in my research and publication on "Arbitration or Litigation - Rationale for Decision Making," which appeared in Udgam Vigyati, showcasing my analytical approach to dispute resolution.
I have also been an active participant in legal seminars, workshops, and Model United Nations, engaging with complex legal and policy issues and honing my public speaking and critical reasoning skills.
Beyond the courtroom, I have cultivated a strong foundation in performance and discipline through classical dance. I am a trained Kathak dancer and have completed my graduation in the art form with distinction from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. The rigor, expression, and grace embedded in Kathak have profoundly shaped my personality, instilling in me a deep sense of focus, resilience, and poise - qualities I carry into my legal practice.
As I continue to build my specialization in criminology and security law, I remain dedicated to developing a holistic legal career that is informed by both intellectual depth and human empathy. With each opportunity, I strive to grow as a responsible and effective litigator committed to contributing meaningfully to the Indian legal system and the pursuit of justice.
